The Laboratory of excellence ACTION and its partners (FEMTO-ST, the Universities of the Balearic Islands, Brussels and Ghent) organize a seminar for non-experts entitled "Experimental reservoir computing: from concepts, to first demonstrations, towards market applications".

This seminar is intented for industrial and academic organizations willing to understand the concept of the hardware neuromophic processor, its functionalites and competitive advantages but also to discover the potential market applications. 

Experimental reservoir computing is a promising research area that adresses a wide range of applications: telecoms, defence, health, robotics, energy/environment...

Motivation

After the recent successful physical demonstrations of such hardware solutions, both in photonics and electronics, the field is willing to progress towards practical applications and market interests. This half-day seminar is typically directed towards industrial partners interested in practical new brain-inspired computational paradigms, and who are looking for practical solutions to solve complex scientific and technological problems.


Before this seminar (Monday, and Tuesday morning), a specialized scientific workshop is organized with many leading researchers of the field. Attending this more expert-oriented workshop is also possible (please contact the organization if interested: claudia.laou-huen@femto-st.fr).

How to reach Besançon:

- By train, with TGV. There are two TGV stations, connected with free shuttles: Besançon Franche-Comté TGV (most common one, outside the city), and Besançon Gare Viotte (downtown)

- By plane, but no airport directly near Besançon, so you will need additional train connection, or car rental to reach Besançon (for nearly any option, count on 2 additional hours to reach Besançon: Paris CDG -TGV advised-, Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg EuroAirport -TGV from Mulhouse station, or car rental-, Lyon Saint-Exupery -car rental advised-, Geneva airport -car rental only-)
